I think that distance education is wonderful for small pacific islands like Saipan that don't have their own local universities. Unfortunately, Saipan isn't the richest place on the planet. It would be a shame if some local students enroll in a program that they can't really afford because they aren't aware of options that are less expensive than the University of Phoenix. (The 'Saipan Tribune' story read more like an advertisement than newspaper reporting.)
The other "university" that has claimed to be in Saipan is Adam Smith University. Hence sarcasm in my post above.
As I understand this post the University of Phoenix has now been up-graded to a DEGREE MILL? It certainly seems that there are perhaps no legitimate internet DL colleges or universities in the USA and that they are all degree mills?
University of Phoenix is RA. As such I wouldn't call it a degree mill. I have heard that it may be an over priced option, though.
