Hsi Lai University has been one of my favorite CA-approved universities. They offer a truly impressive program in Buddhist studies up to the doctoral level (unfortunately, not by DL), they are associated with the largest Buddhist monastery/temple complex outside of Asia (site of Al Gore's little embarassment) and they have a stellar faculty (including the former chairman of UC Berkeley's Buddhist studies doctoral group). Several months ago they entertained a site visit from WASC. Well, the results are in. HLU has become a recognized candidate for regional accreditation. http://www.hlu.edu That's the way these things go, I guess. Fans of CA-approved schools have to learn to practice non-attachment. The most impressive denizens of the BPPVE sector routinely move on to achieve bigger and better things.
