I began an undergraduate degree with a spirit of excitement!!! :D However, the last leg of my undergraduate degree was rough. By the time I graduated, I was absolutely sick of skool!!! I swore it off!!!

Then only nine months later, I re-enrolled in skool to pursue a masters degree. I began with excitement!!! :D The same as it was for the undergraduate degree!!!

Now we've only got 4.5 more classes left until graduation (10 months away) and I'm sick sick sick of skool!!! Arg!!!

I'm not sick to the point of dropping out. No, I'm not that stupid. They would have to kick me out!!! At least the hard classes are finished. ;)

However, I've decided to forego the notion of pursuing a Ph.D. Instead, I am going to concentrate on making money... and lots of it. :D

I will leave the Ph.Ds to those of you who want to work for it. The challenge is all yours. :D

John: You say "Forego." I hear "Postpone."

My wife, on completing her distance Master's (Dominguez Hills) in her mid-30s, drew her line in the sand. No more. In her late 40s, the stirrings began. But what she decided is that the only way it could work was in a structured full-time program. She completed the Ph.D. in her early 50s.

Eldest daughter and co-author, on the other hand, did the 2-year full-time Master's, and said 'no mas.' And now, there is a doctoral program in the Boston area that, as she put it, 'has my name written all over it.' Her previous employer agreed to a 2-year sabbatical for the Master's. Her current one is less likely, she thinks. Interesting time.

John, who started the Ph.D. program
3 weeks after finishing the Master's.
Would I have done this if my draft
board had made it clear that they
expected me either to stay in school
    or go and liberate Vietnam.

    John,

You indeed are a smart man, what with all your anecdotal experiences to boot!!! :)

This may be a little cryptic because I can’t remember what is public information and what isn’t: Reference the degree mills, how is our secret squirrel in Europe doing?

  4. Oh man, you're in the wrong job for this! Maybe you should start a degree mill?

It jumped 23 after I logged on and before I tried this silly idea.

    The stock market

LOL True!!! My fortune will not come from a cop's salary!!! :(

It will come from the stock market!!! :D

< me again has a wild eyed glaze over his eyes as he stares at fools gold >

I've got a friend who is doing absolutely fantastic in the stock market and he is going to mentor me.

If that doesn't work out, I could always start a degree mill with no capital. :p

I think I've investigated every doctoral program in the Boston area. Just curious, which one has grabbed her interest?
