    Professor Hilary Beckles, principal and pro vice-chancellor of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, is quoted as follows:
    • ... using the UWI product of quality regional scholarship, research and tuition on the unique Caribbean society and environment, the university could market itself internationally. He said it would do this by setting up of foreign offices and offering distance learning courses, especially for foreign-based nationals. “Universities have become very migratory, and we need to follow our nationals. In the short- to medium-term, we hope to develop university institutions in London and New York,” he said.
