Hello, I am interested in looking into financial aid opportunities for the older students in this house, age 48 and 50. If anything comes to mind please send it my way. Thanks. Hille (education graduate programs)

From the feedback we've gotten over the years from our "Finding Money for College" book, one of the most useful approaches for the older student involves use of the excellent book, "Foundation Grants for Individuals," which lists several thousand foundations that do just that. With a thesis or dissertation project in mind, one makes application to one or more such places, for funds to do that work. Important issue is that many foundations only dispense funds once a year, with applications due well in advance.
