"We made a key decision that we're not going to distinguish on transcripts between one mode of delivery or the other, because the quality has to be the same," said Nicholas Allen, provost of University of Maryland University College, which offers both traditional and online degree programs and enrolled more than 87,000 students in the last academic year."

The thing is, since 80+% of UMUC students are online at least part of the time for their degrees, having a degree that says "University of Maryland University College" on the top of it without mention of delivery seems irrelevant. HR firms already assume UMUC degrees are, for the most part, On Line even though it is entirely possible to obtain a UMUC degree full time in person at the UMUC headquarters in Adelphi Maryland. If they see a "Univeristy of Maryland" degree with no "University College" on the degree, they assume that the degree was a real time traditional degree, although the University of MAryland at College Park (not UMUC College Park) offers some distance learning through its AJ Clark school of Engineering. Like UMUC, the University of Maryland also does not mention "On Line" for the few degrees it offers on line (M.Engr. etc etc)
