    The pulpit and the political dais are two fine places from which to hide in plain sight. Or they used to be.

    Well, he belongs in jail for what he did. However, the person he pled guilty to having solicited sex with was 17 years old, not what most of us would consider a "child" and not even under the age of consent in that state. So, what this guy did was bad, yes, but nowhere near as bad as the term "child sex trafficking" would usually mean.

    I hope I'm not giving off the incorrect impression that I'm defending the guy. I'm just saying that there are levels of badness and, going by just the one article, he is nowhere near as bad as the title made me believe. I was ready to, personally, flay him from head to toe and drop him in a pool filled with salt. Then I read what he is actually accused of and decided that I'd be ok with him just going to prison. :eek:h:

    There is a vague reference to child pornography in the article. I wonder if that is referring to pictures he might have taken of the 17 year old, or if he was in possession of movies of prepubescent children. If the latter, that would add a much higher level of gravity to the situation.
