I just saw this movie today:

A real tear jerker based on a true story. Hachi waited for his master at the train station for 10 years after his master's (Uni Professor) death, only the master never did return on day after collapsing. This did not stop Hachi from waiting for his master every single day without fail. A beautiful inspirational story based on a true story.

Proviso - I owned two Akitas, and they are great loyal dogs. They were bear hunters and companions to the Samurai in Ancient Japan. A good movie (rated G) that the whole family can enjoy. It is a lesson in nerve ending loyalty.
