Facebook has become a part of American culture. Is it also global -- or is it primarily relegated to the U.S. and Canada?

I think they claim a couple of billion members. I think that includes inactive accounts. I think I don't really know.

Much more than N. America. Highest number of users - India. Second - US. Back 9-10 years ago when I had a FB account, (no longer) I remember contacting UK, Austrian and other Euro users. Here's a chart, with number of users in the top 15 countries:

That's what made me hang up my FB profile, too. I couldn't figure how my Facebook "friends" who had jobs, homes, spouses, kids etc. could have so much time to do NOTHING. I'd keep getting messages like "Bud needs you to help him earn 20,000 points in the Whack-a-Capo mission in Mafia Wars." Sorry -- no can do.

Heck, don't they realize Robin and I are devoted full-time to saving Gotham City from villains, etc. In between, we relax with 3-D chess, Shogi, Carcassonne, Timeline ... cerebral games like that. Not FB.

That was one reason I wouldn't get a cell phone when I was working. If people knew I was available then they might have called when they had time on their hands.
