National Geographic is horrible. It used to be the best place to read some new natural science discoveries, but not in the last few years.

Yesterday, I was reading an "article" on how Iceland might have earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. you know, the freakin' island that is on a fault line, made of volcanoes, the locals are predicting there might be either an earthquake or eruption coming. That is it. No, not when, where exactly, just that these things might happen. THAT was the gist of the article.... ARE. YOU. FREAKIN. KIDDING? Hard hitting scientific journalism.

I unsubscribed to their youtube channel because I was increasingly finding less and less science-based content and more and more social and political activist content.

Is it just their online content, or are their magazines declining in quality, too? Any time I've ever looked through one of their magazines, I've always enjoyed it, but it's been a while.
