Being a non-scientist, I don't know if Mr. Robinson will get his desired outcome - I certainly hope so - but I do know that here in the West, urinalysis has a 6,000 year history and has gotten really sophisticated lately. Urinalysis in Western culture: A brief history - ScienceDirect And then there's the Chinese "miracle cure" - http://www.scmp.com/news/china-insider/article/1544386/drinking-your-own-urine-unorthodox-chinese-miracle-cure Doesn't sound too pleasant.
And, speaking of China and urinalysis, I remember reading an account of extraction of hormones from urine in China which took place about 2,000 years ago. I read it maybe 30-40 years ago and I have no idea where I read it or why I was reading it. But here's a source that tells it pretty well the same: http://www.futuremedicinenow.com/pages/ancientHormones.pdf Nil sub sole novum. J.
Oh, and I think that the Allied chemists in WWII figured out how to precipitate penicillin from patients' pee. The drug was that scarce and valuable. Hah! Here's another one...a couple of years ago I went out before dawn on a beautiful clear night to pick up the paper. In the night sky was an amazing and beautiful gossamer pattern, lit by the not quite risen sun...the next day the paper said it was the space shuttle (or similar) disposing of its collected...urm...yes...during reentry. I'm a little "foggy" on the details.
The whiz kids at NASA said it was a good idea. (Not my joke. Got it from "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me")
Indeed they did. Detailed article from Smithsonian site, here: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/we-used-recycle-drugs-patients-urine-180953789/ J.
