Hey I know it's a little like an advertisement but amazon has a new amazonprime deal for students Amazon has a new Prime deal for college students.
It's interesting that they require an ".edu" email address as proof of enrollment at a legitimate school. So of course I am wondering if my alumni email account, which ends in "reed.edu" would qualify? On the other hand, the student rate is only $2.50 a month less than the regular Amazon Prime rate.
I buy lots of academic titles from Amazon, since they drove so many of the more academic bookstores out of business. So their algorithm got the idea that I must be a student. They are advertising Amazon Prime Student unmercifully whenever I visit Amazon. Whenever I try to purchase what's in my 'shopping cart', advertisements come up that try to make me enroll in Prime Student (even though I'm not a student and don't anticipate being one again in my lifetime) and I always have to click 'not interested' to get out of those pages. I just wish that it would go away.
