    Tom Petty dies at 66

XVI.8: Confucius said, "There are three things of which the superior man stand in awe. He stands in awe of the ordinances of Heaven. He stands in awe of great men. He stands in awe of the words of the sages. The mean man does not know the ordinances of Heaven, and consequently does not stand in awe of them. He is disrespectful to great men. He makes sport of the words of the sages."

66 seems awfully young by today's standards.

I agree with you, BUT... there's that whole 50 year cigarette smoking habit plus dabbling in the green stuff.

Tom Petty Still Won't Back Down - Men's Journal

He's been smoking since he was 17
Petty is a history buff and a fan of Thomas Jefferson. He says one of his favorite things to do whenever he's in Washington, D.C., is to "wait until it's really late, get stoned, go to the Jefferson Memorial, and just sit there and read the walls. I've done that a few times."
