    • Then what?
After the long struggle is over, then what?

For those of you on this journey, have you thought about this?

    Yep.

I'm going to take a new position in the field of training management, unless AT&T can make me a good offer. Oh, and a hot bath. ;)

    Death... the final frontier...

    Rich's ideas are acceptable, but I think I'll avoid Gert's proposal. ;)

It looks like Capella offers a Ph.D with an emphasis in criminal justice and it looks wonderfully appealing. I logged onto their website today and looked at it. It feels like a magnet calling. ;)

You guys are on the Ph.D journey, but I'm still 13 months away from a masters. :(

I believe that in Bears' Guide (I don't have my copy with me right at this moment), there was a brief discussion about a degree beyond the PhD, called the Chancellorate. I really don't know if any institutions have established such a programme of study, but a person could check into it if he/she was really addicted to graduate work!

Or for the truly addicted perhaps a prescription of Paxil or Zoloft. Those obsessive-compulsive disorders can be irritating.;)

And how! I'd only suggest we add Luvox to the list.

I thought the same thing until I saw the tuition rates.

If and when I ever finish a doctorate, I'm taking about 2 weeks off from work and going on a bender. :D

    Hi, everybody!

I think that only Zoloft is indicated for OCD, if my training from the Hollywood Upstairs Medical School and the Mayo Clinic Correspondence School are correct!:D

Interesting note about the side effects of SSRIs (from the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation):

"Luvox, Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, and Zoloft are called SSRIs or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.........All of these drugs commonly produce sexual side effects in both sexes that may range from lowering of sexual drive to delayed ability to have an orgasm to complete inability to have an erection or orgasm. Interestingly, there is an uncommon side effect that has been reported where patients have spontaneous orgasms while yawning......."

    Oh no! I'm starting to feel sleepy.........v e r y s l e e p y.............

    Bruce,

I saw something like circa $3400 per quarter for tuition. So, at roughly $14k per year for 3-4 years, we're talking about $42-54k. I understand there may be residency charges, etc., but, regardless, is that exhorbitant? How does it compare to other institutions?

I am already asking that question now. I have concluded that when I am done with my dissertation, I will pursue the following two degrees.

    1. M.S.E.E (My bachelor's degree is B.S.E.E)
    2. MBA

    (perhaps concurrently)
