    What should I...............

get my doctor friend? He is a surgeon. He has everything that you could ever need. He is getting engaged, and I would like to get him something unique for his engagement party. Any ideas? I am po compared to him. He is a good friend and I would like to get him something thoughtful, not just off the registery.

    Thanks, would appreciate any comments.

He stands in awe of the words of the sages. The mean man does not know the ordinances of Heaven, and consequently does not stand in awe of them. He is disrespectful to great men. He makes sport of the words of the sages."

Give him an experience. Tickets to a concert, the theatre, a sporting event. He doesn't have that because it hasn't happened yet. Once it happens he'll have it forever.

I second Kizmet's suggestion! If he's a fan, then he'll be all about it. My son bought me a VIP concert experience for my birthday, and it was amazing. Also, a while back, my oldest bought a NASCAR racing experience and an Exotic Car driving experience- both awesome. Other "off the charts" cool experiences that may be loved by him and his bride would be a hot air balloon ride (I realize winter is coming, not sure about that) or a vineyard tour/ with dinner.
Also in the cool category are the Escape Rooms. I did one last fall, you need a group for it to be fun, but if he's a doctor- I'm certain he'd love it. It's a great game for people who like to solve puzzles and riddles. I don't know the etiquette of handling costs there. If you set it up, it might be expected that you'd cover everyone. But, I'll let you sort all of that out. They are fun.
