I was on hold for a long time this morning, so I passed the time by adding up the total number of posts to this forum. That was the number.

That number, as we all know, is the highest snooker break score ever.

    Cool!

Another fun fact, you, Dr. Bear, represent 1.27% of that content. ;)

As a wild guess, something like 4,000 in the first five or six years and 2,000 in the next ten years.

The numbers on my screen say that we've got 49,849 threads, 490,713 posts, and 30,667 members. I've got Dr. Bear at 6,087 posts and Jennifer is up to 3,744. Half a million posts is within reach!

I have CONSIDERABLY more posts over at IC than here, mainly because I think IC serves the undergraduate seeker where this page serves those who already have an undergraduate degree. I just noticed that you have 13k posts! Wow. That's amazing. We both joined about the same time, you post count is more than mine both boards combined- and I'm the top poster over on IC in terms of post count.

Actually, I thought 477,777 was Ted Heiks's latest post count! Jennifer - I've got an idea. Maybe you could add in your IC posts and claim TRANSFER CREDIT here.
Last milestone of my own I really looked at here was 666! :firedevil:

BTW - Tedmeister is no longer champion poster. That title belongs to Kiz.

I'm a member of another board and there was a poster that had over 1,000,000 posts. He was on the board constantly. He worked a job as a janitor and the rest of his time was posting on this board. He replied to every post many times with just single word replies. But he also had some interesting stories about his life. I believe he was mentally handicapped, but he was the sweetest man and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He met a few of the other long time posters in real life.

He was on the board for over 15 years before he passed.

They renamed the section where he posted his honor.

I've been here 10 and I'm still a baby- I don't think 15 is all that unusual for a well-established and active forum. It makes sense, I can come here without makeup, talk about only things that I want to - ignore the people I think are asshats, and learn something new. Then, in 4 minutes, I can go back to my life where people don't know or care about the distinction between ACE and NCCRS. ;) It's a wonderful thing.

4 minutes?! I must learn to type faster. No, wait, I won the Los Angeles Junior High speed typing trophy one year, at 96 wpm. There must be a better way.

LOL You've got me beat!! My last test was something in the 70's. But I'm not reading as many threads these days I guess.

Well I've stopped reading the "Mortuary Science Degrees for Left-handed Gay Republicans" thread, but all the rest seem essential to me.

    Why didn't I get a statue?
