    As a lifelong double spacer, I'll concede that the single spacers are probably right, but the weight they place on this issue seems rather disproportionate.

    One thing, though, is that I've read that some resume filters will look for double spacing and discard those, on the assumption that those people are older and thus (somehow) less desirable. (I realize that "I've read" is not a citation, and Neuhaus or one of our other HR experts can probably say whether this is really the case.)

    And I've heard that there are also filters that filter out people who put the period after the quotation mark -- even though that is how it is done in the UK and elsewhere, and even though there are some situations in American English where it is correct.

    So as Philosopher King, I'll allow that, and even the two spaces after period, but one "irregardless" and out they go.
