    Alright DI Folks,

I was recently talking to my father about a series of bizarre, nightmare like dreams I've had that involved the same evil spirit. Nightmares and bizarre dreams are nothing new to me at all, but I have never experienced two different dreams, on two different nights, and two different dream scenarios in which this evil spirit (a woman who goes by the name Molly for what that's worth) is the chief antagonist.

My father seemed to be far more concerned about these events than I am, but I figured I'd reach out to the intelligent folks on this forum to see if any of you have/have had experiences like this and what they may mean.

I am open to all responses whether religious (or not) or just whatever thoughts you may have. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to respond, but not share it publicly.

Does your bladder feel full when you waken from the dream? That the feeling of a full bladder leads to bad dreams is something I've found to be true. I speculate that anxiety over the prospect of wetting the bed turns dreams bad.

Melatonin supplements can make dreams more vivid.

If vivid, memorable dreams were something to be worried about - I think I'd have been dead many years ago. I've had them most of my life, starting in childhood. I've even turned a (very) few of them into stories. There are too many takes on dream interpretation to make sense of. Often, I find them more confusing than the many takes on religion.

One thing that seems to hold true, though. Quite a few of my dreams involve little kids or babies -often, they have no one else or have simply become lost and I have to help them. The dream interpreters say that when you have these dreams, you are the kid - you're dreaming about yourself and your own problems. I think they've got something, there.

I prefer the many dreams I've had about really attractive women from / in exotic lands. Less interpretation required.

Thanks for the laugh! Interestingly enough, both of these dreams have revolved around me trying to save people including the most recent one where I was trying to save my daughter (but she was much older in the dream). In the first dream, as I remember it, there was a massive flood and the people I were trying to rescue were far ahead of me. The spirit was flying around and would intervene any time I got close.

The same thing happened in the dream that involved my daughter. I was told by someone in the dream to make sure I place my daughter inside this giant tent (which is odd because we were inside a house). I walked my daughter into the tent and I looked up and there was "Molly" stand ominously over us. In my head I thought, I have to say her name three times and command that she has no control over me, but every time I tried to say her name, I was unable to speak.

Yeah, sometimes it feels full but not always. I took melatonin supplements only a few times, but I stopped because they induced some of the most off the wall dreams one could imagine.

A fairly common theme. Google has an answer for everything:

"If you can't communicate in your dreams (you can't talk or shout), it reflects your feeling that you are not being heard in your waking life... You may feel ignored or not valued for your thoughts or suggestions. Difficulty speaking in dreams represents feelings of being “tongue-tied” in our waking lives."

Sounds plausible to me. Back about 67 years ago (yes, really!) I had a dream I still remember, in which I couldn't speak. I was about 7, at a picnic, and an archer (!) had sneaked up on my school-friend and drawn his bow. I tried to warn him, but in the dream, my mouth was too full of fruitcake to make a sound. I'm glad to report that the next Monday, I found young Derek had survived the attack and returned to school unharmed.

Although the Google explanation sounds quite possible, I don't think there are many (or any?) universally applicable interpretations for dreams. One size does not fit all. But Google and dream-books are cheaper than psychoanalysis and can give you a place to work from.

Sometimes the night terrors like to visit during the night, like angry ghosts seeking revenge. I recommend meditation and prayer to make them go away.

Isn't that why they call them night terrors?

I often pray, after my dreams about those beautiful, exotic women. I pray they come TRUE!

No, Abner. That's just not me. One would do perfectly. I'd send any latecomers home with a kiss and flowers - I promise.

Ha! I don't see how those dude handled all the drama for multiple women. Damn! :)

I don't, either. Drama aside, I just don't believe the concept of multiple women is (or ever was) right for me. Neither did those multiple women, I guess, because things never happened that way.

To use computing terms, I guess I'm serial, not parallel.

I wonder what Mr. Decimon has to say about this.

IIRC, it was determined that we average five dreams a night. Dreams were determined to run at several times real time.

I think of my dreams as being those of light sleep or deep sleep. The dreams we are aware of are dreams we waken from. The dreams I wake from are nearly all of light sleep. In light sleep I 'don't bother' having sex dreams as I'll wake up when physical contact should be there but isn't. I therefore long thought I didn't have sex dreams. Then I happened to waken from a deep sleep dream where I was having a grand old time.
