Question for the computer folks

During the night, I close email down and any open windows. Sometimes, In the morning I find my computer with this box opened up. It's the box that opens up when you click on the round thing at the very bottom of the screen to the left. It is kind of yellow and blue. To the right of the box, it says pc user, docs, pix, music homegroup, downloads, computer network, devices and printers, etc. To the left of the box, there are things like windows, etc.

Is it normal for this box to be open like that? I do not open it. Is someone getting in to my computer? My old computer guy Shen installed a program so he could fix my computer remotely, and the thing is still installed in there. He quit, and went to work somewhere else. Could it be him going in there when I am not aware?

Oh, the thing that my computer guy installed is called "Go to assistant". It's still in there.

does it happen every night?

Try disconnecting the network cable, or turning off WiFi in the computer for the night. Keep the power on for the computer.

If the window still opens than it is something in your computer, versus someone remotely doing it.

There are plenty of activities that happen in a computer during "idle" time. you can find them under your Task Scheduler.

 

Yeah, windows 7. No, it doesn't do it every night. It was just spooking me. I thought someone was doing it remotely. Thanks! I feel better now.
