    FYI,

Poland confirms 98-year-old Minnesota man was Nazi commander, seeks extradition - LA Times

"In Poland, prosecutor Andrzej Pozorski said Karkoc would be given a full opportunity to tell his story."

"This person has not been questioned in the capacity of a suspect so it is hard to react to his explanations, because we don't know them," said Pozorski who heads the investigative team at a state institute."

If the facts bear out and he cannot prove he was involved with the Nazis, he should spend the rest of his few year left in a prison. Pretty nice compared to what the Nazis did to the Jews.

And now, I would like to dedicate this song to Nazis:

    I do not understand.

How is this possible? Is he not just an undocumented resident? He has family! Pays taxes! Are we going to rip these families apart? Do we not think of the children?

Yeah, that poor Nazi (if he is proven to be a Nazi). Poor guy was probably working in the strawberry fields fourteen hours a day. If he is he they say he is, he needs to pay the price.

The story includes nothing about the Shoah. At the age of 98, this process will likely kill him off, guilty or not.

Then, if he is not guilty, I will pray for him.

Pray for him even if he is guilty.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Nazis, but I have to wonder the point of extradition where he's 98 years old. If he contests the extradition, he'll likely die in a US prison awaiting the appeals process, and will never set foot in Poland.
