Anyone have any suggestions on places to get tools that is even cheaper than Harbor Freight?

I need to buy a band saw to spite my father and I don't feel like spending more than $100 (with coupon they have one for $127 but it doesn't include a blade).

Where I live there frequently auctions where tools are available for bid. You can often get them for next to nothing. If you're in a rush then use your coupon (although remember, when it comes to tools you often get what you pay for. If you plan on being only an occasional user a $100 saw might be ok. If you think you'll be using it often/hard then it's better not to buy a bottom of the line tool.

Craigslist. Seriously. Lots of great deals there. Lots of crap too, which requires one to weed through a lot of junk to get to the good stuff.

Thanks. I've never used a portable band saw. Might be worth exploring further.

And to everyone else, thank you for the suggestions. I honestly keep forgetting Craigslist is a thing. I've found a few decent options on there (including one new Delta benchtop band saw that is going for $50, woohoo people selling the tools of the recently deceased!).

I'm a big DIYer but I've never really needed a band saw. Lately I've had a few projects that it would have come in handy for. Most recently my father bet me an indeterminate amount of pride that I couldn't cut a dovetail joint because I, in his opinion, am a large self-fornicating segment of female reproductive organs.

I have a dovetail saw which is cheap and terrible. And I've done dovetails a few times but it was always on the band saw we had on base when I was in the Navy. Perhaps not the most common tool of choice but, hey, work with what works.

I've seen it done with a jig and a router. Looked wicked easy.

Yeah, I saw a YouTube video of someone doing that this morning. I'm waiting to hear back on the cheap band saw (which would be handy to have anyway). But if that doesn't work out I can probably get a jig and a dovetail bit for my router for roughly the same price.

Don't have much idea about the tool you are asking to know. However, if you like to get website analysis tool this could be helpful for you [link removed by Moderator]
