is there more or is it found more?

When I've reviewed resumes I always find that they have padding. In good times and in bad times. However, in bad times, with fewer openings I think the resumes get scrutinized a little more.
What do you think? Do people really pad more when jobs are scarce? or are the resumes being scrutinized more?
    All the best!

I don't know about "padding" the resumes. But, I think just about EVERYBODY is guilty of fluffing up job descriptions of positions they have held.

Is it bad? I guess not. Just making the resume more attractive. In real life, I am a slob.. Doesn't mean I'll be wearing a stained t-shirt and ripped shorts to the interview. Does that mean I am deceiving the interviewer by making think I dress professional?

PS I'm not REALLY a slob (well maybe at home..):D

  3. A few weeks ago, I interviewed an engineer whose resume said that he had implemented changes that saved $10,000,000 here and other changes that saved $5,000,000 there, and so on. But when we discussed these projects it became apparent that he had miscalculated the estimated savings, which were closer to $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. Needless to say...
