Why don't Catholics try and see what happens? This reminds me of when Cesear Chavez Day became a holiday out here. My conservative friend was outraged until he found out that he gets the day off with pay me! Boy! That changed his tune mighty quick. He he. He loves Cesar Chavez day now! Oh, the bill was passed with bipartisan support BTW.
First, it would go nowhere. Very few politicians have a backbone these days. Second, they're rightly afraid of the Thought Police and the Social Justice Warriors who would try to smear them with being Islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, and _______ (insert the currently trendy "phobic" or "ist" here).
Realistically, though, usually it's still Christians who have unbalanced access to the public square. Christian after school programs in public schools are a striking example. But there's a competing religion that does what it can to change that. Which one, you may ask? Could it be... Satan? The government can't have it both ways. Either all religion is banned, or none of it is. They can't pick and choose which religions are worthy of praise and recognition, while ignoring others.
I know a Satanic chap. Quite a nice fellow actually. :smile: I am sure he would love to have Satanism recognized by the State.
