For some silly reason, I'm reminded of the first time I ever heard of jasmine - night blooming jasmine, to be specific.

It was in 1940s England and I was no more than 4 or 5, when my parents took me to the show with them (pre-TV days for many Brits - including us). We saw the movie "Dead Reckoning" (1947). I don't know why - but I've remembered it ever since.

Humphrey Bogart's character smells night-blooming jasmine just as he gets klonked on the head ... and he suspects Coral - Lizabeth Scott, * who wears a jasmine perfume. IIRC, I asked and my Mum explained what night-blooming jasmine was.

Abner - I hope your jasmine does really well - for a long, long time.
