Good Morning, I was wondering if only regionally accreditted schools were able to participate in these conventions. I am sending for a brochure out of interest but hope whoever is going can fill me in. Thanks. Have a good Sunday. Hille
doesn't generate much interest I am surprized! I thought this would generate a great deal of interest. All the best!
DL convention in Calif I would be interested in having a DL convention in California if anyone else here is up to it
Re: DL convention in Calif Me too, and living in Palm Springs has its advantages. Any takers? I'd be willing to take an active role with the assistance of my Rotary Club. One of our members is the GM of the convention center. Michael P.S. If Schools like CCU participated, do the participants think it would it be "blackballed"? MB
Re: Re: DL convention in Calif I think the word "blackballed" is incorrect. What I ment is "Do you think there would be objections to DETC Schools and State Licensed Schools participating." MB
Anyone can go to the Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning in Madison, Wisconsin. I've gone the past couple years, and found it very worth my time. (Doesn't hurt that I like Madison and it's pretty that time of year.) The conference draws more than a thousand attendees, from universities and colleges, government, business, nonprofit organizations -- a good mix of people. I haven't met any individuals who were associated with unaccredited schools, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. They aren't going to turn down a conference registration because you list an affiliation with a school that doesn't have accreditation or even if you list an affiliation with an entity that's a known fraud. You might get some uncomfortable questions during the social breaks (but since a large proportion of the attendees are from the midwest, they'd be politely phrased).
Cali convention What about something in the San Francisco area so its easy for DR Bear? Just a thought
