This new mobile app is being used by some criminals to locate players in isolated areas. Pokemon Go is a monster mobile hit - BBC News
My kids walked all over the neighborhood this weekend doing this. My middle son took his bike and was gone for about two hours trying find them. Pretty clever app, good fun. We went down to the local park on the river in mid city and there were probably 50 people walking around with their phones using this app. It was surreal.
Since posting that first story I've seen several others all about how much fun this is. I heard that at this point the downloads are slow due to the volume of requests.
Nintendo's stock has shot up over 20% since the game was released last week. It's clever. I'm not surprised assholes use it to do asshole things however.
I like it when I can post a crossover to another thread. I especially like it when I can crossover to the Conspiracy Theory thread. Pokémon Go Is a Government Surveillance Psyop Conspiracy
Wow! It took a whole month for the first Pokémon Go - related murder to occur. Gotta shoot em all. Man killed while playing 'Pokemon Go' at San Francisco park
Maybe police might get to use it somehow - as a ruse to track / lure criminals. A park near me used to be practically empty in the evenings. Now it's full of adult Pokémon players. The first time, I thought for a minute there was a Festival or something. Some of them looked really sketchy / shifty. Yeah, officer - you gotta catch 'em all. J.
So far, I've booked one crash that was for certain due to the driver playing Pokemon Go, and about 3 others that I suspect were caused by it.
That's ridiculous. Just because people do stupid things while playing it doesn't mean the game itself is unsafe.
Not just criminals. I watched on Facebook that they were human beings caught doing some "**** things" under a tree. -all because of Pokemon GO. LOL
I'm pretty sure that humans have been doing *****things for a long time before Pokémon Go existed. Even under trees.

My kids both play Pokemon Go, but they go out together and/or with friends, so they're always either together or in a group. When just the two of them go, they're accompanied by our ginormous and very protective English Mastiff, which puts my mind at ease. I'm actually thrilled that they're getting outside, socializing with friends, and getting exercise that they enjoy.
