At the risk of changing the topic, I've noticed that some on the left refer to disagreeing with someone as "educating" them. Am I the only one who finds that that comes across as arrogant and closed-minded?

This wasn't a disagreement over opinions; it was stating facts to correct misconceptions. Although, Roland Martin did get the name of one of the schools slightly wrong. Many people think that HBCUs are colleges created by black people to separate themselves. This is factually incorrect; they are federally-designated as HBCUs just like some universities are federally-designated as Hispanic-serving. Most black college students do not attend HBCUs. HBCUs are historically black colleges founded when black people were not allowed to attend the mainstream colleges, and these colleges admit many non-black people. White students have even gotten full-ride scholarships at HBCUs. St. Philip's College, which is located in my hometown of San Antonio, is an HBCU that is over 50% Hispanic and only 13% black (2013 numbers). Wendy Williams knew she looked dumb and tried to backpedal; although, rather poorly. I don't even know why you're making this a left-right issue.
