Flex seal: http://flexsealproducts.com/diy-projects-and-customer-stories/ This product can be used for various things, and really works. I have talked to people that have used it and swear by it. I just special ordered one gallon of it. From roof repairs, chicken coops, ponds, etc.
I recently learned that there's a store that only sells things "as seen on tv" I don't want to turn myself into a spammer so, guess what the store is called, the store that sells things "as seen on tv" Go ahead, guess.
We used to have one of the said stores you refer to in our little nearby mall. They closed years ago, and there are no other stores close by. So, I just ordered one gallon of the stuff i referred to previously, and wammo! I even get free shipping! Right to my doorstep. I love it. They don't have the gallon of liquid product in the stores, it must be special ordered. Now I can fix three or four things that have kind of piled up on me with one easy to product. I hope this tip helps another homeowner.
There are stores of that name and/or type in pretty well every shopping mall in the city where I live - including some "malls" not worthy of that description. Seeing the number of people in these stores - and having overheard conversations on the buses, I've come to the conclusion that the "gullibility-per-capita index" may be far higher in this part of Canada than in most of the U.S. Most seem to specialize in supposed herbal weight-loss concoctions and flimsy, dubious exercise-gadgets. Many of each. "Move along, folks. Nothing to see here..." J.
Many years ago, on a whim, I bought a plastic omelet-maker that was on a late-night TV commercial. The damn thing really works, and I use it pretty frequently.
Now that sounds extremely useful, to me. I should look for one... really, I'm serious. I'd honestly like something like that. J.
Sometimes I get confused with kitchen-gadgets. I almost bought what I thought was a tortilla-maker. Thought I'd try it with some exotic flour (pea, bean, lentil, quinoa, spelt?) Then I found out it was a pizzelle maker, so I didn't buy it - and nobody got to laugh at me -- at least until the next time. J.
I bought these ceramic bowls for microwaving eggs. Just drop two eggs into them, add a tiny bit of water, and microwave for 2 minutes. You get fluffy, delicious eggs just like that. You can also add ingredients like ham, veggies, or cheese. Highly recommended.
I highly recommend watching the new movie, "Joy." It's loosely based on the life of Joy Mangano, the lady who became a millionaire from selling a mop she designed on QVC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joy_(film)
I've bought two informercial products in 20 years. The bubble-blowing bunny was a total failure, and we're still using and liking Chef Tony's "miracle" knives a decade later. My doctoral research on complaining discovered that in the US, about 80% of buyers are unhappy with their informercial products, but only about 10% complain or return them. (Norway: higher dissatisfaction, many fewer returns. Korea: comparable dissatisfaction, many more returns.)
