I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July holiday. If you're in the area, drop by the DegreeInfo booth at the Worcester celebration on Saturday.
That sounds nice. I will have to pick up some hamburgers and hot dogs while I am there as well.
We're travelling starting tomorrow and are seeing National Parks in Oregon/Washington over the next 12 days. I think we will be enjoying Crater Lake on the 4th.
It's a sad condemnation of the state of freedom in the U.S. that the best place to get fireworks to celebrate that freedom is... Mexico.
Yeah, the ladyfingers and the jello shots were just a joke. I don't drink at all and, as you know, all fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts. I'm not big on firing off that stuff. However, I could just drive down into Connecticut and buy whatever I want. I used to have a fondness for cherry bombs and M80s. Maybe I can blow off a few before the weekend is over.
It's been that way my whole life. https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXX/Chapter148/Section39
It's a big deal in California, and has been since I was a kid. I think you could have sparklers, but that's it. No firecrackers, and absolutely no bottle rockets, M-80s and that stuff. It could land you in jail. I grew up 15 minutes from Mexico, and for most of my life it was pretty easy to bring across contraband on your person. They didn't even check IDs for most people--just asked your country of origin. The chances of getting inspected when you weren't carrying anything were practically nil. All that said, almost no one took that chance.
