I need to get certified fast. I used to be certified, but it expired a super long time ago. I guess online would work, but I should really practice on of those dummy things. I went to ask the cop across the street, but he is at work. I think the firefighters give some kind of training. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was trained in search and rescue years ago, but I will deal with that later. I just hate having to dig through all kinds of ancient paper work in my old school paper files. Damn! Oh well, no big. Thanks!
Most organizations only recognize the American Heart Association and Red Cross. I believe AHA only offers a partially online CPR course. The skills section has to be done in person.
If you can't find a local Red Cross Chapter or Hospital that offers either AHA or Red Cross, you can do a scuba industry equivalent such as PADI EFR. https://www.padi.com/padi-courses/emergency-first-response-efr Ask who you need it for if that would be an acceptable alternative.
As mentioned, your local Red Cross chapter will provide CPR, First Aid, and other helping skills training (my daughter took their babysitting course), but on their schedule. If you need CPR with OSHA-certification, the online courses won't do, you have to go to a classroom. You can find pretty much anything you need here; Red Cross Training | Take a Class | American Red Cross The American Heart Association also has OSHA-certified courses; CPR If neither can accommodate your schedule, try the fire department/EMS for your community. If you're served by a private contractor for EMS, those companies always want to stay on the good side of the city/town and its residents (to keep the contract), so they'll often offer free training. It's certainly worth a phone call or email.
Thanks Everybody! I talked my friend the cop. We are working on some stuff I guess you could say. Thanks once again for your great tips! Abner
