I was having some lunch at a local taco shop, and I decided to stroll over to Turner's afterwards. They had a 638 S&W something or other on sale for $419.99. It's basically a newer version of the gun I own now. It was much lighter and smaller than the old school FBI issue 38 special I have. I logically thought it, hmmm, lighter must equal less "kick". Not so, according to the nice fella I was talking to. It will actually have more kick than the old school 38 I have. He did show me some other 38's. Apparently some 38's can fire 38 ammo, or 357 ammo? So I asked him, which ammo is cheaper? "the 38's" he replied. He showed me a S&W, and a Ruger. I have no idea if one is better than the other. I like 38's because of the easy maintenance involved. I don't want to have to "break down" a gun and deal with all sorts of little parts lying around.

In speaking with cops and gun shop owners, I have decided not to register my gun. My late uncle left me the gun, and I have come to the conclusion that I just don't want to go through the hassle of registering it in my name, and it is not really necessary. So, I learned something new today. Back to my home repairs.

    Hasta!
