I just down loaded it. Where do you check accessories?

    Thanks,

Liked it on a machine (this one) where it came pre-installed. Hated it on a Win7 machine after the upgrade to Win10.

Never, ever upgrade an OS on a Windows machine. Upgrade versions of the same OS, sure. But never upgrade to a later OS. Windows is terrible at it, and whatever you think you might gain from the new OS will be overwhelmed by the ensuing problems. I've known this for decades, but allowed it one time. Never again.

No, and I'm ready to get a restraining order against Microsoft to stop all the popup ads for it.

Oh man guys! I wish I had known this before I upgraded. I thought it would be slightly different. I hate this new version. I think there is a way I can restore back to windows 7. Should i restore? From what I see so far, Windows 10 sucks! I like Windows 7.

Wew! I just read that I can restore back to Windows 7 if I do it within a month. I am definitely restoring. It seems easy enough, but if I have trouble I'll just call my computer guy Shen. He can fix anything.

Back to my home repairs. I am starting to feel like Bob Villa that home repair guy. I had my house termited, but now I am going in and replacing the damaged wood. Then I need to repaint. The termite guys could have replaced the wood, but they charge of fortune to do it. No gracias. I am lucky because my older neighbor has every tool/power tool you can think of, and if I can't figure something out, he can. He has helped me do a lot of stuff. We have been living at Home Depot lately. Plus, he gets me his Vet discount!
    Off I go!

I agree. One would hope for either an opt-out or a time limit. Neither seems to be the case, however.

My experience has been totally different.

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on two computers, and from Windows 8 to Windows 10 on two computers, and have had no problems with any of them. This was several months ago.

Personally, I like Windows 10. I liked Windows 7 as well, but did not like Windows 8.

You can restore, but it might not make things better.

When an OS upgrades, it doesn't erase the old one and replace it with the new. (Nor does it reverse the process going back.) This is part of the problem with upgrading to new versions (or, again, with going back). The new one lays on top of the old one, even using some of it. But those uses are not always seamless.

If you wipe a computer clean and install an OS from scratch, that should be okay. But that is a royal pain.

At first glance I thought you said thermited.

I am just going to take it Shen. I called him to see if I could talk him in to doing it remotely (he gives me freebies sometimes) but he said it would be quite involved. I'll just unhook my computer for a day and let him take care of it for $50.00. I DO NOT like Windows 10 at all. As soon as I have some time between home repairs I'm taking it in so the experts can take care of it. I only let Shen touch me computer. The guy is a genius.

P.S. He recommended that I not try to do it myself. Good suggestion.

Talk about high pressure. I kept getting those damn pop ups from Windows. Then, I came in the house and it was down loading. I swear I did not do it! Then I thought, well, how different can it be? So I let it down load. Geez, those pushy people!

Well, kind of. Termites are pretty destructive. The thing is, they can cause damage without the homeowner realizing it. It starts off with a little hole and some little wood droppings. However, wood that has been painted holds in internal damage those little buggers do, so it is not always visible if you look up at your eaves, for example. Once you get up there and take a look, you realize you can put your finger through the termite damaged wood! So I am going in and replacing any damaged wood, priming it and sealing it with the Mercedes of paint products, Dunn Edwards (they gave me a courtesy account). It is expensive, but if you paint with this stuff, it won't crack, blister or peel. One thing I have learned. Buy the best quality materials, do the prep right, and do it once. When I was a homeowner in my twenties, the old timers were right. They would tell me what I am saying now. My philosophy used to be to slap some Home Depot paint on wood, not primer it, and be done with it as fast as possible. It doesn't last though. Luckily, I had the house painted with Dunn Edwards paint when I fist moved in, and the majority of the house is in good condition. The damage is mostly in this little man cave/storage room the previous owner built on the side of the house. I am tackling the repairs one by one.

I guess my lucky rabbits foot kept me from experiencing all the negatives of Windows 10. Honestly, I've had none.

Upgrade or with computers that had a native installation of it? That's the distinction I'm making. My ultrabook had Win10 factory installed and it runs perfectly.

As I said in a previous thread, Rich, both. I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on two computers, and from Windows 8 to Windows 10 on two computers, and have had no problems with any of them. Plus, I've bought several computers recently for my company with Windows 10 preinstalled. Honestly, I've had trouble with none of them. That doesn't mean others haven't, apparently many have, but I haven't.

Sorry if I don't track you from thread to thread. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm glad it's working for you.

I don't think I've ever upgraded a Windows OS. I occasionally do an OS upgrade on machines running Linux (Ubuntu and derivatives) and don't remember ever having a problem.
