“This unprovoked attack on a sleeping man disgusted every prosecutor, victim advocate, and trooper who worked on it,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley. “State prison was the only appropriate sentence.”

This doesn't surprise given the current political rhetoric. I even expected it. I wish these guys would have received more time, but it sounds like they were given the maximum allowed by law. Maybe they could try to beat on some big blacks or Mexicans in there. They are going to have to watch their backs while they are in the bote once the word spreads.
