This seems constructive: Tide begins to shift in gun safety debate "The volunteers talked about how we could prioritize the safety of Tennesseans while respecting the Second Amendment. These conversations never would have happened just two years ago. It’s clear that the norms surrounding gun violence prevention and public safety are shifting."
Whenever gun control people want to try to sneak one past the goalie, they frame it as "gun safety", and the old standby, "It's for the children". I'm reminded of that old saying, "The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted the silverware". The more that a group insists that something about guns is in the name of "safety", the more certain that it really isn't.
