    Whack job:

Vet accused of killing a cat appears before vet board | KXAN.com

“Animal cruelty is a serious crime, and we are talking about a veterinarian committing it,” said animal rights advocate Misty Christo. “The only route to justice in this case is revocation of the license.”

"A Grand Jury failed to indict Lindsey on animal cruelty charges. The district attorney claimed there was not sufficient proof to formally charge her."

Not enough proof? I would say a FB picture of her smiling and holding the dead cat she killed is a pretty good amount of proof.

Animal cruelty laws need to have stiffer penaslties.

Especially given the fact that many who abuse animals go on to abuse humans. Serial killers for example.

I've always supported our vets. Not only should they be given the best of health care and benefits, but we should help them re-enter society and....huh? What? Oh, that kind of "vet."

    Never mind.

The article states that she believed that the cat had rabies. I suppose a veterinarian would be one of the best people to determine that, but even if that is true, it was beyond stupid to post that picture on Facebook.

I've had to put down many animals, wild & domestic, who were rabid or injured beyond hope (crushed by a vehicle). I never take pleasure in it, I actually feel bad every time, and I sure as hell wouldn't pose for a picture with the carcass, never mind post it to social media.

I agree. I saw other videos of the cat in question, and while I am no vet, I have seen cats with rabies. The cat she killed did not appear to have rabies.

This link sheds a little more light on the matter:

Texas vet Kristen Lindsey fired after posting picture of cat she killed with an ARROW | Daily Mail Online

"Beneath the shocking image, Lindsey, a Wyoming native, wrote: 'My first bow kill... lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it's head. Vet of the year award... gladly accepted.'

"She also said in a comment, before she learned she no longer had a job: 'And no I did not lose my job. Psshh. Like someone would get rid of me. I'm awesome."
