Inside the most secretive iphone factory in the world. Inside One of the World I gotta get one of those pink jackets.
Fascinating story. Reminds me of the time I was on a plane and sat next to the manager of a huge film developing factory in Connecticut. (Film: little rolls of stuff that people used to put in cameras.) Mail-in envelopes were inserted in Sunday papers, and every week, hundreds of thousands of people mailed in their roll of film, with $1 or $2 cash. That much cash coming into a low-wage environment = big problems. The solution was that every one of the 1,000+ workers arrived at work and was zipped into a pocketless mylar body suit, toes to chin, with locked zippers. There they sat until quitting time. Bathrooms? Escorted by a monitor and closely watched. Shrinkage went from tens of thousands of dollars a week to almost zero.
Sorry, Kizmet, I just sent a group e-mail with the link you wanted to remain secret. I tried, I really did, but it was like I just had to tell somebody.
