Ok so I posted earlier about a bachelors in political science. The other option I'm
Considering is a bachelors in Business.

I would love to hear from other political science majors? Why you chose poli sci? What your goal is with the degree? Where u plan on working? Do you see the majority of people working in Washington, D.C.? Or can you really work anywhere ?

One of my concerns, being a mom of four( two bio) ( two adopted nerves who were abused) is that since my bio children are still very young the husband wants me to work part time to be able to be home when they get home ? I'm not sure how feasible that is? Second if I were to do the LSC fellowship program here in Ohio (which is where John Kasich attended FYI) ( a great paid 13 month program) it would mean me being gone 13 hours a day prob with drive time but I feel it's totally worth it!! But I also wouldn't be doing this program (even if I get accepted) for a few more years.

I've spent weeks online learning about poli sci and I'm still just lost on where it might take me and what it might require of me?

Is it even possible to do anything part time in a career in political science?

Or do I just choose the business route?

To me in more interested in political science but I worry it's a useless degree as I've heard or that you should only expect to work in Washington. Thought please lol help
Me out here I just want to hear about others experiences ?

I personally like the idea of trying to work for children's advocacy (with my adopted nieces in mind) or towards legislation that helps children or foxes the broken CPS system we have? Ok I know I've rambled ...thoughts ???

I'm not sure that either of the degrees you've mentioned is particularly well suited to child advocacy. I'm less certain about the foxes.:laugh2::yeah:

Well, first you set a goal, then you see about how to reach that goal. In your case, it sounds like your goal is to work in child advocacy. You should decide whether a degree in business, a degree in politics, or some other preparation would best help you reach that goal.

I'm not sure what the scope of child advocacy is, but personally studying business sounds more "future proof" to me, and it involves learning about things like accounting or management that tend to be useful in a wide variety of professional situations.
