A few years late, but while I was looking for something else, I came across the sad news that Jeffrey Brunton, former attorney for the Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection and the scourge of degree mills & less-than-wonderful schools that tried to take root in Hawaii, has died.

Jeff was a valuable contributor to DI, as well as the entire world of DL. May he Rest In Peace.

As I wrote in our degree book, if every state had an administrator like Oregon's Alan Contreras and a consumer attorney like Hawaii's Brunton, there would be many fewer degree mills in the U.S.

He was only survived by his sister? He seemed like a good guy. I will pray for him.
