As I have said before I am Spanish on my dad's side of the family. Every few years my wife and I go visit with family in Spain during Easter time. They prepare for months and have festivals/processions for weeks. I thought I would post pictures showing these Easter processions, as I imagine people here in the US have never seen one. They are quite spectacular, and have a away of transporting you back to medieval times.

WARNING: Please note - the men wearing robes, hoods and carrying torches are not Klansmen. They are penitent Christians. They are in no way affiliated with organizations like the degenerate Christian Identity movement. Please see reference from Wikipedia:

"The origins of the use of the costume are unclear. Such garments have been traditionally used at least from the 15th century in festivities such as Holy Week, symbolizing the act of penance, but these are totally unrelated to the KKK except by its superficial resemblance".

NOTE to mods - If anyone, including mods find these pictures offensive, please remove this thread immediately. Also, if these pictures violate TOS, please delete thread immediately.

Ok, so that's out of the way. The festivals/processions are held in countries like Spain, Italy, France and some Latin American countries. Please see article below:

I wish everyone a happy Easter, and that you can spend time with family and friends.

I saw some of this sort of thing on an episode of Anthony Bourdain's TV show.
