But Venmo. My goodness, what a thing. Am I the only one who doesn't know about it? A young tenant in our building started paying her rent with Venmo last month. Sort of a cross between Facebook and Paypal. You make a payment online, and instantly everybody and his brother gets to read about what you're spending your money on, and with whom. Passing fancy? Well actually there were 700 million transactions last year, the vast majority involving people under 40. Owned by the PayPal people, who obviously have their finger on, well, something or other.
