With instruction available in English, it's somewhat intriguing. I've always wanted to be on a watch-list.
Re: Re: Syrian Virtual University C'mon Dennis, aren't you being a bit narrow minded? I mean after all, I'm sure that no more than 50% of your tuition and fees would go towards supporting state sponsored terrorism Jack
Re: Re: Re: Syrian Virtual University My Short-List of Countries to Avoid: 1. Any country whose postage stamps or passports feature: a. AK-47 rifles; b. Burning U.S. flags. c. People wearing hoods (other than the academic variety.) 2. Any country whose nationals are routinely fingerprinted upon arrival at U.S. ports of entry. (Syria is "out" on more than one of the standards above.)
Why? I wonder about all this Syria-bashing! If our government has a problem with their government, why do we have to bash a society and its current and potential contributions to local, regional and world culture. We did not ridicule South African schools or social contributions of that nation while that country resisted the terrorism of Apartheid. Fun aside, let us not belittle other individuals or groups of people.
KKA I don't think anyone made any comment about the Syrian people, just its government and institutions. Nothing particular to Syria, but governments exist because they are supported or tolerated by their people. The world has killed tens of millions of kind wonderful people because of their government's policies. I don't see this as changing anytime soon. Maybe it should.
