    From a New Zealand correspondent:

The latest on John Davy (the government official who used a fake degree bought from an American diploma sellers) is that his eight month sentence has been reduced on appeal to six months. This means under our Parole system he should be released in three months if he is a good boy. He is in New Zealand's worst (oldest) gaol (jail) at Mt Eden in Auckland and has had to be moved to a "special unit" for his own safety. They are not saying much but it appears he has been subject to "aggro" from other inmates - most likely Maori. It is estimated that his stay at "Her Majesty's Pleasure" will cost the NZ taxpayer $NZ190,000. It is expected he will be deported back to Canada. Presumably this is what he expects, since it has also been learned that he has ordered a $US35,000 Harley Davidson motorcycle to be sent from Saudi Arabia to an address in Canada and that this was paid for from his Philippines bank account and that another bank account is held in the Isle of Man which is of course a tax haven.
