Who's In Kizmet's Sig Line?

I am inventing a silly game just to have a little fun. I am going to change the photo and the university in my sig line. Whoever can identify the character in the photo and the relevance of the university name will be awarded the sweetpoints. Sweetpoints are intangible karma sparkles that are redeemable at the time of your reincarnation for more favorable life circumstances. So it's definitely worth playing this silly game. All guesses and comments should be made in this thread. All solutions and awards will be here too. Everyone is invited to participate. All comments welcome.

OK, so airtorn wins 100 sweetpoints! He has correctly identified the photo as being of Cobie Smulders in her role as Maria Hill, Agent of SHIELD. And of course, Madripoor is the fictional island where Maria was stationed during the beginnings of her career.

OK you guys are a little too good at this game. I thought that would take a couple of days to figure out. Neuhaus is correct. The picture is of an anonymous cosplay player dressed as Nico Minoru, leader of the Runaways. Nico is a witch, inheriting her powers from her parents, the dark witches of the Pride. The Runaways is a relatively unknown comic book series from Marvel. Arcanorium College is a college of magic.

I am totally out of touch with any, any of the things posted above. I saw your "University of Monica" thing a while ago, asked innocently, told it was a game, I promptly gave up. Fine with me. I don't need no stinking sweetpoints.

I was amused to see that it is listed as a Batchelor of Magic. Yes, that is how it is spelled on the website.

But no action on the present sig line . . . people are quite good at obscure fictional characters but more challenged by real life people (that's a hint btw). If no one gets it soon I'll switch it up again. Gotta keep the game moving.

 

Last year, my wife was reading a book called Hiding from Humanity while she was preparing an article about the sex offender registry and the reintegration of convicted sex offenders into society.

I was eating a sandwich while all of this went on.

But, funny story, I was home alone on a Saturday afternoon and the internet went down. So, I picked up the book and gave it a read (because it was easier than screwing around with the router).

I tell you this not-very-interesting aside because Hiding from Humanity was written by Martha Nussbaum, a Harvard alumna and formerly taught there as a professor.

I've also been meaning to read From Disgust to Humanity since my wife also happens to have a copy of that as well. But, the internet hasn't gone out in a while.

OK, there's really something wrong with the universe when Neuhaus can identify Martha Nussbaum from a tiny photo. It's just WRONG! For those who don't know, Martha Nussbaum is a rockstar in the world of American Philosophy. While she teaches at the University of Chicago, her PhD is from Harvard. Neuhaus earns himself 100 sweetpoints and doesn't his karma look all sparkley? The next shift will be later tonight.
