With so many options for reading now available, which do you prefer?

    1. E-book via devices like Kindle, Nook, iPad, etc.?

    or

    2. The traditional physical book in hand?

But the one that really really intrigues me is Spritz, the one-word-at-a-time app that really works (for me). I got up to 700 words a minute after ten minutes of practice. It would be perfect for the Apple Watch, Moto, or Pebble; I'm surprised they're not featuring it. You can try it out here: You Could Soon Read An Entire Harry Potter Book In Under 90 Minutes With This App

Someone gave me a nook and I use it for reading fun novels, etc. Those little paperbacks used to take up so much space in my house that it's nice to get rid of them all although I worked in a place where people created a library where you could drop off books and take books for free. For my purposes the nook has essentially an unlimited capacity and so that need evaporated. At the same time, I like textbooks and other school related to books to be the old fashioned sort because I like to underline, doodle and write in the margins when I'm studying. If I had to choose between the two kinds I'd go old school.

I travel alot and when traveling the Kindle Paperwhite can't be beat. The battery lasts forever and it can more books than you can read in a trip.

I used to use my IPAD with the Kindle App for traveling but the battery was never enough. I also tried using the Kindle App on my Iphone 6 + but the screen was just too small and I had the same battery life problems.

When I am home or in my office nothing beats a real paper book.

For technical reading I like a printed book (or report) so I can quickly flip through the pages. Scrolling back and forth with my computer takes ages.

book in hand! I can't stand eBooks. It's funny, because I use my computer for so much, that it shouldn't seem like a stretch to read a book that way, but I have a really hard time getting the same experience. ? Not sure why.

I prefer the dead tree version. Reading from a device has never felt right to me for some reason.

My wife has a Kindle Fire, but seldom uses it. I have an iPad with Kindle and Nook apps, so for traveling and having access to a large number of volumes on a thin device, the iPad works really well for me. I have an excellent software program--several thousand vocation specific reference/research volumes--that I use almost daily via PC and notebook. I am extremely thankful for technology and the vast wealth of data now available to the average person.

With that said, even with all the data we can access via the Internet, etc., there remains something about holding a book in one's hands, turning the pages, well..........you get the picture.
