I know that many of you are having fun in the sun but in my neighborhood we're looking at a blizzard that's projected to dump 24" - 36" of snow starting tomorrow and ending sometime Tuesday/Wednesday. I spent a little time at my local Aubuchon Hardware store today and watched them sell out of sand/salt. I was picking up some extra batteries and candles because in a storm like that you've got to guess the power lines will go down. So, to all my fellow New Englanders, stay safe, stay warm and take some photos. I'm going to try to post some from my phone cam.
Yes, be safe. We're "only" supposed to get 12-16 inches in my neck of the woods ('burbs west of Philly).
I hope everyone has plenty of food, water, firewood and emergency supplies. Even though I now live in Texas, I've been through blizzard conditions before in Ohio. Take care.
Watchin' it live from 6,000+ miles away, wearing me some flipflops, drinkin a brewsky, and playing Risk online. Stay safe.
11:09 pm - The snow is falling with swirling winds. Not a lot of accumulation at this point but they're saying it's going to fall steadily through the night and all of tomorrow. I'm wearing a floppy sweater and wool socks, drinking lemon seltzer and pretending to read a book on Critical Thinking. Bedtime soon.
It's no problem Abner, just a little snow. There's about 18 inches sitting on my picnic table and the drifts are substantially deeper. We never lost power and so I got to binge-watch the first season of The Blacklist. The weather heads are saying that the worst is over for my neighborhood and so I'm thinking I'll start clearing the driveway and then maybe take a nap. Tomorrow will just be another day. I hope everyone else is doing well. Watch the video of this Principal cancelling school for the day - kinda cute.
