NASA prints 3-D wrench in space - CNN.com

Very cool. It does raise the question of how in the world they went through all that trouble to put a 3D printer into space but just somehow forgot to bring wrenches :dunno:

    Anyway- SCIENCE :notworthy:

I'll bet that Amazon could have gotten it there almost as fast. And if you have the right promo code they'll deliver it before Christmas at half the normal shipping rate.:burnout:

So true! Amazon has awesome shipping! Maybe those on the space station weren't members of Amazon Prime.

Just bought a copy of Make: Magazine, all about 3D printers. Story about a guy in Holland who has a 3D printer with an 12-foot bed, and makes houses. Very common use of 3D printers: printing 3D printers. I love it.

Yep. I'm an Amazon Prime member and just the other day I had a thought that I'd like to buy my wife a ring and wouldn't you know but a minute later I heard the doorbell. It had already arrived via UPS! Think it and it will be delivered!

I can't even get my printer to reliably communicate with my computer 3 feet away. Impressive!
