Ahhh, the youth of our nation! I work in a public high school, which makes it awfully easy to get an idea of what the kids think is cool these days. Apparently, Ebola has become the "in" thing to rap about, to incorporate into every manner of slang, to use as part of an insult and to shout in the middle of the hallways to nobody in particular. The trend I have observed has been for some student or another, always male, to shout EEEEEBOOOOOLAAAA!!! In the same melody as in the famous Ricola cough drop commercials. As I was writing this, I searched YouTube to see if I can find an example of anyone doing this to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Yep. I found it. There aren't that many views to the video, so I don't suppose that the kids are just imitating the trend. Apparently, they are creating the trend. I have to admit... it IS kind of funny. Anyway, I have no particular insights to add here. Keep Ebollin', my hommies!
