About a year ago we had an intern come through the hospital to gain experience repairing medical devices. I worked closely with her and called the school with my feedback on how prepared she was for the field based on the education and training she received. One thing lead to another and I became a member of the advisory board to the College Consortium to restructure and standardize the biosciences programs across the country. I was involved in meetings where 12 colleges from across the country were represented. Last night we put the final touches on a degree program and have submitted it for approval. It is rewarding when one phone call that started out as a critique of a student turned into something so impactful. We are setting the national model for a program. BTW, this is an on campus program but I helped model some of the classes to be a hybrid class. Just wanted to share this...I feel pretty good about it...
