    Hello folks,

I have been trying for days to register for classes at Indiana U east, and also WNMU, and it is a major hassle. I'm non degree seeking, so I would think that just forking over money and registering would be simple.

But no. I must deal with every department under the sun, and the instructions for registering are mangled, and links broken, and...sigh. I am very tired of trying to give these people my money.

This morning I got an email welcoming me to the university, but unfortunately the welcome letter was addressed to my town, not me. They didn't seem to know my name.
It is as though you received a welcome letter with the salutation "Dear Toledo, Welcome to XXU." And the worst part is the letter was of no practical help in registering for the darn class I want.

Well, hang in there, eh? Yup.

Don't feel bad- you are just a number to them. My undergrad university thinks that I am a male (because I am retired from the military), and they call me at the office late at night to solicit Alumni donations!

Perhaps they think that because you're a hard worker you're more successful and thus better able to donate?

My wife has been trying to get in touch with UCSF, the University of California, San Francisco on quite an important matter. Voice mail messages not returned. Email on their "We will reply within 24 hours" site not returned. She phoned their emergency hotline, was told "If this is a real emergency, hang up and dial 911, otherwise stay on the line and the next available . . . " She put the phone on speakerphone and went about her business. 2 ½ hours later, it was still ringing, and she hung up. Next week we will make the 45-minute drive to the campus. She says she is prepared to chain herself to a desk, if necessary, but I'm not sure if she's serious.
