"It means less income for divorce lawyers." OOOOH NO IT DOESN'T! Listen, folks, if there are children or significant property or tax concerns or support issues involved, the "quickie" divorce can create undreamed of legal hassles for the fool who tries to represent himself, even if he IS a lawyer! DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! It reminds me of the great "Avoid Probate" seminars. If you don't REALLY know what you are doing, you will end up paying far more to have the mess straightened out, if it CAN be straightened out, than the few hundred dollars a competent lawyer would charge to do it right the first time. Besides, if you screw it up yourself, you can't sue your lawyer! Nosborne, JD (Who hates doing divorces)
If my wife and I agree to a no fault divorce , is there any [deleted by moderator] laws about divorce, can i sue the guy that encouraged her to get shed of me for alienation of affection,

I've testified at several trials in which a defendent was representing himself. I've come to this conclusion: A person representing themself is guilty, they know they're guilty, and they're having one last hoorah on their way to prison. This is the analogy I use to those who argue some lawyers are bad or incompetent: I may be a bad driver, but he has never driven a car. Which one of us is more likely to get in an accident?
